The Marula tree is one of the most well-known, and important trees in the Bushveld Biome of Southern Africa. All parts of this special tree are used by humans and animals, and the sweet, fermenting fruit in particular. The stone of the fruit is cracked to extract the seed, from which antioxidant-rich oil is cold pressed. Traditionally, this hard shell is used to make charcoal. In this soap we have combined Swazi Marula oil and cleansing activated charcoal with essential oils that are reminiscent of the evening in the Bushveld – when the heat from the earth carries the rich scent of dry soil, smoky bark and sweet flowers that have started opening for the moths that fill the night air.
